Light emitting device package and backlight unit using the same
First Claim
1. A light emitting device package, comprising:
- a plurality of light emitting devices on a substrate; and
a plurality of optical lenses respectively disposed over the plurality of light emitting devices, the plurality of respective optical lenses comprising a recessed portion centrally disposed on a top surface of a respective optical lens,wherein the recessed portion inwardly recesses towards a respective light emitting device,wherein an upper surface of the respective light emitting device is below a bottom surface of the respective optical lens,wherein a central axis of the respective light emitting device substantially aligns with a central axis of the recessed portion of the respective optical lens,wherein the respective optical lens includes;
a body; and
an extending member extending from the body of the respective optical lens,wherein the extending member comprises a first portion laterally extending in a first direction substantially perpendicular to the central axis of the respective light emitting device, and a second portion extending towards the substrate in a second direction substantially parallel with the central axis of the respective light emitting device,wherein the first portion is separated from a top surface of the substrate,wherein the first portion includes a laterally outermost surface of the respective optical lens, a first surface facing the top surface of the substrate, and a second surface opposite to the first surface,wherein the second portion is disposed between the top surface of the substrate and a plane including the first surface of the first portion, andwherein a vertical cross section of the second portion is substantially symmetrical with respect to an axis that is spaced apart in the first direction from and substantially parallel with the central axis of the respective light emitting device.

Abstract
A light emitting device package including light emitting devices, and optical lenses respectively disposed over the light emitting devices. Further, a respective optical lens includes an extending member extending from a body of the respective optical lens, and including a first portion laterally extending in a first direction substantially perpendicular to the central axis of the respective light emitting device, and a second portion extending towards the substrate in a second direction substantially parallel with the central axis of the respective light emitting device. A vertical cross section of the second portion is substantially symmetrical with respect to an axis that is spaced apart in the first direction from and substantially parallel with the central axis of the respective light emitting device.
