1. A method for wireless communication in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) wireless system, said method comprising:

  • receiving, at a base station from a first subscriber station located in a first sector of a cell of said OFDMA wireless system, first channel quality and interference information of subcarriers;

    receiving, at said base station from a second subscriber station located in a second sector of said cell of said OFDMA wireless system, second channel quality and interference information of said subcarriers;

    analyzing, at said base station, said first and second channel quality and interference information of said subcarriers received from said first and second subscriber stations, respectively; and

    allocating, by said base station, at least some of said subcarriers to said first and second subscriber stations based on said analyzing of said first and second channel quality and interference information of said subcarriers received from said first and second subscriber stations, respectively, said allocating of said at least some of said subcarriers comprising;

    allocating, by said base station, a first plurality of said subcarriers to said first subscriber station located in said first sector of said cell, said allocating of said first plurality of said subcarriers to said first subscriber station being based on said first and second channel quality and interference information of said subcarriers received from said first and second subscriber stations, respectively; and

    allocating, by said base station, a second plurality of said subcarriers to said second subscriber station located in said second sector of said cell, said allocating of said second plurality of said subcarriers to said second subscriber station being based on said first and second channel quality and interference information of said subcarriers received from said first and second subscriber stations, respectively, said allocated first plurality of said subcarriers being different than said allocated second plurality of said subcarriers.
