1. A method of treating pain in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a monoclonal antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to a first receptor consisting of amino acid residues 1-662 of SEQ ID NO:

  • 8, or a second receptor consisting of amino acid residues 1-979 of SEQ ID NO;

    16, or a heterodimeric receptor comprising the first and second receptors, wherein the pain is associated with a burn, neuropathy or allodynia, and wherein after administration the pain is reduced.
