1. An anchor system for securing the position of a medical instrument, comprising:

  • an anchor device configured to releasably secure to an external portion of a medical instrument while another portion of the medical instrument occupies a skin penetration point, the anchor device including;

    a retainer base to releasably secure with the external portion of the medical instrument, and one or more subcutaneous anchors that extend distally from a distal end of the retainer base and toward the skin penetration point, each anchor comprising;

    a longitudinal shaft portion that extends distally from the distal end of the retainer base, and a flexible tine that deploys in a subcutaneous region to secure the retainer base relative to the skin penetration point, the retainer base comprising a flexible hinge having a longitudinal fold line that defines a pivot axis, wherein each tine is pivotable about the pivot axis defined by the flexible hinge of the retainer base from a deployed configuration to a removal configuration.
