1. A staple cartridge assembly, comprising:

  • a plurality of staples, wherein each said staple comprises;

    a base;

    a deformable member extending from said base; and

    a crown, wherein said deformable member is slidable relative to said crown; and

    a staple cartridge body configured to removably store said staples, said staple cartridge body comprising;

    a deck comprising a top surface;

    a plurality of staple cavities configured to receive said deformable members, wherein each said staple cavity comprises an opening in said deck; and

    a plurality of recesses defined in said deck, wherein each said recess surrounds a said opening, and wherein said crowns are removably positioned in said recesses,wherein said crowns are removably attached to said deck, wherein said crowns are integrally molded with said deck, and wherein said bases of said staples are configured to contact said crowns and dislodge said crowns from said deck.
