1. A method for connecting a wireless electric actuating device that has a transmitter/receiver to a medical appliance that has a transmitter/receiver via a wireless communication channel, the method comprising the steps:

  • determining by the medical appliance whether a connection operation for the wireless electric actuating device has been initiated by a user and, if it is determined that a connection operation has been initiated, reducing power of the transmitter/receiver of the medical appliance to a reduced medical appliance power level and then transmitting from the medical appliance at the reduced transmitter/receiver power level, a request to perform the connection operation, or, if it is determined that a connection operation has not been initiated, returning to an idling process;

    determining by the actuating device whether a request to perform the connection operation has been received, and, if it has been determined that a request to perform the connection operation has been received, reducing transmitter power of the transmitter/receiver of the actuating device to a reduced actuating device power level and then transmitting from the actuating device at the reduced actuating device power level an answer to the request from the medical appliance and assigning the actuating device to the medical appliance, or, if it is determined that a pairing request has not been received, returning to the idling process.
