1. A method of placing at least one electrode for intraoperative monitoring of a patient comprising the steps of:
- providing a garment having a skin surface adapted to contact the skin of a patient with at least one electrode on the skin surface;
arranging the garment on the patient such that the at least one electrode is configured to be oriented in proximity to a stimulation site, the stimulation site being selected from a group of stimulation sites consisting of;
a nerve, a muscle, or a combination thereof during an intraoperative monitoring procedure;
performing the intraoperative monitoring procedure during a surgical procedure on the patient, wherein the intraoperative monitoring procedure comprises;
generating a stimulation signal;
stimulating the stimulation site with the generated stimulation signal,recording at a recording site remote from the stimulation site an evoked response to the stimulation signal;
manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure, wherein the step of manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure comprises removing portions of the garment during the surgical procedure; and
removing the garment.

6. A method of performing intraoperative monitoring during a surgical procedure, the method comprising the steps of:
-
providing a garment comprising at least one surface, stimulation electrode adapted to contact a skin of a patient, the garment being formed of a fabric having at least first indicia to align the at least one surface, stimulation electrode with a stimulation site on the patient; placing the garment on the patient such that the at least first indicia is aligned with the stimulation site on the patient; arranging at least one receiving electrode on the patient at a location remote from the stimulation site; coupling the at least one surface, stimulation electrode to a peripheral nerve stimulator and the receiving electrode to a processor; generating a stimulation signal by the peripheral nerve stimulator and applying the generated stimulation signal to the patient through the at least one stimulation electrode such that the stimulation signal stimulates a nerve during the surgical procedure; receiving at the at least one receiving electrode an electrically evoked response based on the stimulation of the nerve; processing the electrically evoked response by the processor during a surgical procedure; manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure, wherein the step of manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure comprises exposing portions of the patient by the cutting of the garment during the surgical procedure; and removing the garment when the intraoperative monitoring is completed. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17)

16. A method of performing intraoperative monitoring during a surgical procedure, the method comprising the steps of:
-
providing a garment having a skin facing side and a surface opposite the skin facing side, the surface having at least one indicia that aligns with a stimulation site on a patient when the garment is worn by the patient, the skin facing side of the garment having a plurality of stimulation electrodes proximate at least one indicia on the surface of the garment; placing the garment on the patient such that the at least one indicia is aligned with the stimulation site; arranging at least one receiving electrode on the patient at a location remote from the stimulation site; coupling the plurality of stimulation electrodes to a peripheral nerve stimulator and the receiving electrode to a processor; generating a stimulation signal by the peripheral nerve stimulator and applying the generated stimulation signal to the patient through each of the plurality of stimulation electrodes; receiving at the at least one receiving electrode an electrically evoked response for each of the plurality of stimulation electrodes; using the processor to determine one of the plurality of stimulation electrodes that provides a best evoked response; disconnecting the others of the plurality of stimulation electrodes from the peripheral nerve stimulator; performing intraoperative nerve monitoring using the one of the plurality of stimulation electrodes during the surgical procedure; and manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure, wherein the step of manipulating the garment during the surgical procedure comprises exposing portions of the patient by cutting the garment during the surgical procedure; and removing the garment when the intraoperative monitoring is completed.
