1. A computer-implemented method, performed by an adapter that is connected to a legacy device, the method comprising:

  • receiving, from the legacy device, unique information of the legacy device uniquely identifying the legacy device;

    checking a list that includes unique information of legacy devices that are registrable in a Digital Rights Management (DRM) interoperable domain, using the received unique information of the legacy device;

    determining whether the unique information of the legacy device is on the list; and

    if the unique information of the legacy device is not on the list, preventing the legacy device from being registered in the domain, or else requesting the manager of the domain to register the legacy device,wherein the legacy device, when registered with the domain, acts as a client in the domain, andwherein the clienttransmits to a controller, a request message that requests transmission of multiple content items from a source to a destination and comprises a transport session identifier that identifies a transport session, whereinthe transmission of the multiple content items is based on a transport protocol that supports transmission of the multiple content items in a single session identified by the transports session identifier,each content item is divided multiple frames, each frame having a header of N bits, N being an integer greater than or equal to 2, the header indicating a length of a payload of the corresponding frame,an index identifying each content item is inserted before the header of a first frame of each content item,an end of each content item is indicated by a separator constructed with a predetermined number of bits having first values, andan end of the transmission of the multiple content items is indicated by an end-of-transmission string constructed with a predetermined number of bits having second values, andreceives an event message from the controller, the event message indicating a current status of transmission of one or more of the multiple content items.
