1. A calibration system for calibrating a physiological measurement monitor comprising:

  • a first physiological monitor configured to continuously measure a physiological analyte of a patient;

    a calibration module comprising;

    a first communication port configured to receive measured physiological data from the first physiological monitor; and

    a second communication port communicating with a non-continuous, invasive physiological measurement device and receiving reliable data indicative of one or more physiological parameters from the non-continuous, invasive physiological measurement device, the non-continuous, invasive physiological measurement device configured to automatically extract blood from a patient intravenously and test the blood automatically to determine a reliable indication of the physiological analyte of the patient, the calibration module configured to automatically communicate commands to the invasive physiological measurement device to take measurements at dynamic intervals based on calibration feedback; and

    wherein the calibration module is configured to calibrate the first physiological monitor using the information received over the first and second communication ports.
