select a component of the entertainment system;
determine a first state of the component that specifies at least one configuration setting other than a power setting;
store an indication of the first state after determining the first state of the component;
detect a second instruction after detecting the first instruction;
retrieve the indication of the first state that specifies at least one configuration setting other than a power setting when the component is not in the first state;
generate a third instruction based on the indication of the first state after retrieving the indication of the first state; and
transmit the third instruction to the component of the entertainment system.
