1. A control system for establishing gaseous fuel input for a compression ignition engine operative on a variable mixture of gaseous and distillate fuels, said control system comprising:

  • a monitoring assembly operatively disposed and structured to determine a plurality of three predetermined operating parameters of the engine, independent of load conditions of the engine;

    said three predetermined operating parameters comprise mass flow rate of intake air to the combustion section of the engine;

    temperature of exhaust gas from the combustion section and an occurrence of engine knock in the combustion section;

    said monitoring assembly comprising at least one of mass airflow (MAF) sensor structured to monitor the mass flow rate of air and disposed in monitoring relation to the intake air flow to a combustion section of the engine;

    at least one temperature sensor structured to monitor the temperature of the exhaust gas and disposed and structured to determine temperature of exhaust gases from the combustion section of the engine and at least one knock sensor operatively disposed relative to the combustion section and structured to determine an occurrence of engine knock;

    an electronic control unit (ECU) connected to said monitoring assembly and configured to interpretively process data from said monitoring assembly, associated with at least two of said plurality of three operating parameters, andsaid ECU operative to establish a concentration of gaseous fuel in the variable fuel mixture sufficient to comply with monitored ones of said three predetermined operating parameters.
