Abstract

A method for one or more portions of one or more regions of an electronic paper assembly having one or more display layers includes, but is not limited to: obtaining and controlling display of one or more portions of one or more display layers of the electronic paper assembly regarding display of second information in response to the information associated with the one or more sequences of two or more conformations of the one or more portions of the one or more regions of the electronic paper assembly. In addition to the foregoing, other related method/system aspects are described in the claims, drawings, and text forming a part of the present disclosure.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly;

selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly; and

activating the at least one wallet-type application to at least enable payment functionality using the at least one electronic paper assembly.

2. A system comprising:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly;

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly; and

circuitry configured for activating the at least one wallet-type application to at least enable payment functionality using the at least one electronic paper assembly.

5. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly of at least one of the following types;

electrophoretic, twist ball, liquid crystal, electrofluidic, organic light emitting diode, or liquid powder.

6. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

circuitry configured for detecting information associated with one or more conformations of one or more portions of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

7. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining from one or more sensors information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly.

8. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining optical fiber derived information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly.

9. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly having two or more display layers.

10. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly having two or more display surfaces.

11. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

circuitry configured for outputting information for display on at least one portion of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

12. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

circuitry configured for outputting information for display on at least one portion of the at least one electronic paper assembly using two or more display layers.

13. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds along one or more display borders of at least one electronic paper assembly.

14. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds within one or more display regions of at least one electronic paper assembly.

15. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly that includes one or more touch input portions.

16. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

circuitry configured for outputting public content for display on at least one portion of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

17. The system of claim 2, wherein the system is at least partially incorporated within the at least one electronic paper assembly.

18. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly about at least one hinge.

19. The system of claim 2, further comprising:

circuitry configured for outputting one or more softkeys for display on at least one touch input portion of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

20. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining at least one of the following types of information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly;

strain, stress, force, geometrical, or angle.

21. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly that utilizes plate type electronics.

22. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly that is between 90 degrees and 180 degrees.

23. The system of claim 2, wherein the system is physically separate from the at least one electronic paper assembly.

24. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly that is between approximately zero and approximately one-hundred and eighty degrees.

25. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one at least partial predetermined mid-portion conformation, bend, or crease of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

26. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion bend or crease of the at least one electronic paper assembly.

27. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more conformations, bends, or creases of at least one electronic paper assembly.

28. The system of claim 2, wherein the circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly comprises:

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly, the wallet-type application enabling one or more of the following functionalities;

calendar, debit and credit card authorization control, financial transaction management of one or more accounts, payment management of one or more accounts, storage of personal information, management of personal information, photo storage, or photo management.

3. A system comprising:

means for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly;

means for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly; and

means for activating the at least one wallet-type application to at least enable payment functionality using the at least one electronic paper assembly.

4. An electronic paper assembly comprising:

circuitry configured for obtaining information associated with one or more folds of at least one electronic paper assembly;

circuitry configured for selecting at least one wallet-type application based at least partly on recognition of at least one predetermined mid-portion fold of the at least one electronic paper assembly; and

circuitry configured for activating the at least one wallet-type application to at least enable payment functionality using the at least one electronic paper assembly.
