Abstract

A method of converting user-selected printed text to a synthesized image sequence is provided. The method includes capturing a first image of printed text and generating a model information associated with the text.

Claims

1. A system for converting a textual passage to a synthesized image sequence, comprising:

processing electronics configured to determine a first textual passage of a text source currently being read by a user, to predict a second textual passage of the text source that will be read by the user, and to generate a synthesized image sequence associated with the second textual passage.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the first textual passage and the second textual passage are in an electronic format.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the first textual passage and the second textual passage are in a print format.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to generate an indicia in relation to the second textual passage.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to predict the second textual passage that will be read by the user based on an amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of pages.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of paragraphs.

8. The system of claim 5, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of sentences.

9. The system of claim 5, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of words.

10. The system of claim 5, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of letters.

11. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to predict the second textual passage that will be read by the user based on a reading speed of the user.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to determine the reading speed of the user.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein the reading speed of the user comprises a number of pages per minute.

14. The system of claim 12, wherein the reading speed of the user comprises a number of words per minute.

15. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to predict the second textual passage that will be read by the user based on an image synthesization speed of the processing electronics.

16. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to select the second textual passage based on interest to the user as a synthesized image sequence.

17. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed as the user is reading the second textual passage.

18. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed at a time that the user is predicted to read the second textual passage.

19. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed as the user is reading a textual passage proximate the second textual passage.

20. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed as the synthesized image sequence is generated.

21. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to generated the synthesized image sequence at a quality level based on a predicted time until the user reads the second textual passage.

22. A system for converting a textual passage to a synthesized image sequence, comprising:

processing electronics configured to determine a reading speed of a user, to determine a first textual passage of a text source currently being read by the user, to predict a second textual passage of the text source that will be read by the user based on the reading speed of the user and an amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage, and to generate a synthesized image sequence associated with the second textual passage.

23. The system of claim 22, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of pages.

24. The system of claim 22, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of paragraphs.

25. The system of claim 22, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of sentences.

26. The system of claim 22, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of words.

27. The system of claim 22, wherein the amount of text between the first textual passage and the second textual passage comprises a number of letters.

28. The system of claim 22, wherein the reading speed of the user comprises a number of pages per minute.

29. The system of claim 22, wherein the reading speed of the user comprises a number of words per minute.

30. The system of claim 22, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to predict the second textual passage that will be read by the user based on an image synthesization speed of the processing electronics.

31. The system of claim 22, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to generated the synthesized image sequence at a quality level based on a predicted time until the user reads the second textual passage.

32. The system of claim 22, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed as the user is reading the second textual passage.

33. The system of claim 22, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed at a time that the user is predicted to read the second textual passage.

34. The system of claim 22, wherein the processing electronics are further configured to cause the synthesized image sequence to be displayed as the user is reading a textual passage proximate the second textual passage.

35. A system for converting a textual passage to a synthesized image sequence, comprising:

processing electronics configured to determine a first textual passage of a text source currently being read by the user, to predict a second textual passage of the text source that will be read by the user, to generate a synthesized image sequence associated with the second textual passage at a first quality, to predict a time until the user reads the second textual passage, to predict a time to regenerate the synthesized image sequence at a second quality better than the first quality, to regenerate the synthesized image sequence at the second quality when the predicted time to regenerate the synthesized image sequence at the second quality is less than the predicted time until the user reads the second textual passage, and to predict a third textual passage of the text source that will be read by the user when the predicted time to regenerate the synthesized image sequence at the second quality is greater than the predicted time until the user reads the second textual passage.
