1. A method for authorizing access to video surveillance data, comprising:

  • recording, in a data processing system, at least one pre-specified automatically detectable condition for granting real-time access to surveillance video generated by a surveillance domain by at least one person not having unconditional real-time access to said surveillance video generated by said surveillance domain;

    receiving, in said data processing system, a request on behalf of a requestor to access to said surveillance video to access said surveillance video generated by said surveillance domain in real-time, said requestor being one of said at least one person not having unconditional real-time access to said surveillance video generated by said surveillance domain;

    responsive to receiving said request, automatically determining, with said data processing system, whether said at least one pre-specified automatically detectable condition for granting real-time access to said surveillance video generated by said surveillance domain is met; and

    responsive to determining that said at least one pre-specified automatically detectable condition is met, automatically authorizing, with said data processing system, real-time access by said requestor to the requested surveillance video.
