1. A vehicular rearview assembly having a front and a front peripheral portion, the assembly comprising:
- an electro-optic mirror element comprising;
a first substrate comprising;
a first surface, anda second surface;
a second substrate comprising;
a third surface,a fourth surface, andan electrode carried on at least the third surface;
a perimeter seal between the second and third surfaces, wherein the seal and the second and third surfaces define a cavity; and
an electro-optic medium disposed in the cavity; and
a housing structure having an aperture corresponding to the front portion of the vehicular rearview assembly, wherein at least a portion of the housing structure is configured to support the electro-optic mirror element,wherein the first surface of the first substrate that is an outer surface of the electro-optic mirror element corresponds to the front of the vehicular rearview assembly, andfurther wherein the second surface comprises a plurality of electrically conductive coatings disposed thereon and substantially isolated from one another by an isolation area that is substantially devoid of electrically conductive material.
