1. An adaptor for an endoscopic water bottle, the adaptor comprising:
- a substantially tubular body having an interior surface and an exterior surface and having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion having threads on the exterior surface thereof configured to attach to corresponding to threads on a water bottle cap of the endoscopic water bottle, the lower portion having threads on the interior surface thereof configured to attach to corresponding threads on a neck portion of the water bottle; and
a gas inlet port configured to attach to a gas source, wherein the gas inlet port extends outwardly from the exterior surface of the body and has a central passage extending through the body to the interior surface of the body such that the gas source is in fluid communication with the water bottle via the adaptor.

Abstract
The present invention provides a gas water bottle adaptor that is suitable for attachment to a water bottle and to a bottle cap. The adaptor can include a gas inlet on one side thereof suitable for attachment to the gas connection of an endoscope. A sealing member can be affixed to the adaptor to prevent leakage of any fluid (e.g., liquid or gas) that is inside of the water bottle. The adaptor may be used in endoscopy methods and is particularly useful for adding a secondary gas source to a water bottle.

18. A method for supplying a secondary gas in an endoscopic procedure, the method comprising:
-
disengaging and separating a water bottle of an endoscopy assembly from a cap of the water bottle, the water bottle having a neck portion with threads on the external surface thereof, the cap having threads formed on the interior surface thereof; affixing an adaptor to the water bottle by mating threads provided on the interior surface of a lower portion of a body of the adaptor with the threads on the external surface of the neck portion of the water bottle; affixing the adaptor to the cap by mating threads provided on the exterior surface of an upper portion of the body of the adaptor with the threads formed on the interior surface of the cap; and connecting a gas inlet port extending outwardly from the exterior surface of the body of the adaptor to a secondary gas source, such that a secondary gas is supplied from the secondary gas source to the endoscopy assembly via a central passage extending through the body of the adaptor and opening on the interior surface of the body of the adaptor. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20)
