1. A surgical method comprising:

  • attaching a flexible member to candidate tissue using a loop;

    inserting the flexible member into a flexible member anchor;

    attaching the flexible member anchor to bone;

    pulling the flexible member through the flexible member anchor to locate the candidate tissue at a desired position relative to the bone; and

    maintaining the desired position using a unidirectional mechanism of the flexible member anchor, the flexible member anchor including an anchor body having an outwardly extending, bone engaging formation configured to retain the anchor body within the bone, the anchor body defining a path for passage of the flexible member through the anchor body, the anchor body including a restrictor located along a side of the flexible member anchor, the restrictor defining an opening having a first portion for permitting passage of the flexible member therethrough and a second portion for restricting passage of the flexible member therethrough, the second portion including first and second surfaces between which the flexible member is receivable, the first and the second surfaces for restricting passage of the flexible member therethrough by compressing the flexible member between the first and the second surfaces,the restrictor being configured such that movement of the flexible member from the first portion to the second portion to restrict passage of the flexible member through the restrictor is not along the path the flexible member takes to pass through the first portion.
