- a wound dressing comprising;
a transmission layer comprising a 3D knitted or fabric material;
an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate;
a cover layer overlying the absorbent layer and comprising an orifice;
a baffle element; and
a suction port for applying negative pressure to the wound dressing for the application of topical negative pressure at a wound site, the suction port comprising;
a connector portion configured to connect the suction port to a pump; and
a liquid impermeable gas permeable filter element arranged to prevent substantially all liquid from entering the connector portion.

a wound dressing comprising; a transmission layer comprising a 3D knitted or fabric material configured to remain open upon application of negative pressure to the wound dressing; an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate, the absorbent layer overlying the transmission layer; a cover layer overlying the absorbent layer and comprising an orifice, wherein the cover layer is moisture vapor permeable; a baffle element; and a suction port for applying negative pressure to the wound dressing, the suction port comprising; a connector portion connected to the suction port; a sealing surface for sealing the suction port to the cover layer of the wound dressing; and a liquid impermeable gas permeable filter element arranged to prevent a liquid from entering the connector portion. - View Dependent Claims (14)
