1. Functional optical coherent imaging (fOCI) platform comprisinga. at least one active camera unit (ACU), for calculating an optical coherent imaging (OCI) map, comprising a coherent and/or a partially coherent light source, and means for spectral filtering and imaging a signal of interest at a selected body area of interest of a subject;

  • b. an image processing unit (IPU) for pre-processing data received from the ACU;

    c. at least one stimulation unit (STU) transmitting a stimulation pattern to the subject;

    d. at least one body function reference measurement unit (BFMU), which detects and measures body functions that are physiological processes that happen without any internal or external stimulus;

    e. a central clock and processing unit (CCU), with interconnections to the ACU, the IPU, and the STU, for collecting and merging pre-processed data from the IPU, the stimulation pattern from the STU, and reference data from the BFMU in a timely synchronized manner;

    f. a post-processing unit (statistical analysis unit, SAU) suitable for statistical analysis of received synchronized data from the CCU, the SAU being configured to remove signals representative of the reference data received from the BFMU from the signal of interest received from the ACU before and during application of an internal or external stimulus; and

    g. an operator interface (HOI) for controlling and communication with the STU, the BFMU, and/or the IPU.
