1. A light device comprising:

  • a housing;

    at least one light emitting device operable for emitting light in a wavelength range suitable for curing a light curable compound;

    a tip structure configured to be removably coupled with the housing, the at least one light-emitting device positioned at a distal end of the tip structure, the tip structure including a heat sink element coupled with the at least one light emitting device for removal of heat generated by the light emitting device, an end of the heat sink element extending past the proximal end of the tip structure;

    a heat sink element in the housing, the heat sink element of the tip structure thermally coupling with the heat sink element in the housing when the tip structure is removably coupled with the housing;

    the housing including a channel to receive the end of the heat sink element that extends past the tip structure proximal end for removably coupling the tip structure and the housing;

    a power supply circuit positioned in the housing and operably coupled to the at least one light emitting device to power the device through the tip, the power supply circuit being rechargeable and including at least one ultracapacitor element for being charged, the power supply circuit including a current source circuit coupled between the ultracapacitor element and the light-emitting device that is configured to discharge the at least one ultracapacitor element as a current source to drive the at least one light emitting device;

    a charger circuit for charging the at least one ultracapacitor element as a current source, the charger circuit configured to charge the ultracapacitor element in a generally non-exponential, linear charge function for rapid charging of the at least one ultracapacitor element.
