1. A method for increasing local immune cytokine induction but not systemic induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines comprising:
- generating a systemic cytokine release through administration to a subject of a dose of an adjuvant, wherein at least a portion of the dose of the adjuvant is coupled to synthetic nanocarriers andchoosing the dose of the coupled adjuvant to be greater than a separate dose of the adjuvant which is not coupled to synthetic nanocarriers, wherein the administration of the coupled adjuvant results in a systemic cytokine release similar to that generated through administration of the dose of the not-coupled adjuvant to the subject.
