a portable power tool having; (i) at least one spindle configured to receive and drive a working tool; (ii) at least one braking unit configured to brake at least one of the at least one spindle and the working tool, at least when in a braking mode, the at least one braking unit being realized as a mountable module; and (iii) at least one runoff safety unit configured to prevent the working tool from running off the at least one spindle, at least when in the braking mode; and at least one additional mountable module, wherein the at least one additional mountable module is configured to be mounted on the portable power tool as an alternative to the at least one braking unit.
