1. A method of identifying a location of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- establishing, with a mobile device, a communication connection with at least one system of the vehicle;
detecting, with the mobile device, a disconnection of the communication connection;
responsive to detecting the disconnection, calculating a confidence score based at least in part on sensor data measured from one or more sensors of the mobile device;
responsive to determining that the confidence score exceeds a threshold, determining that the vehicle is in a parked state;
responsive to determining that the vehicle is in a parked state, determining a location of the mobile device; and
associating the determined location with the location of the vehicle.

Abstract
A mobile computing device can be used to locate a vehicle parking location. In particular, the mobile device can automatically identify when a vehicle in which the mobile device is located has entered into a parked state. The mobile device can determine that the vehicle is in a parked state by analyzing one or more parameters that indicate a parked state or a transit state. The location of the mobile device at a time corresponding to when the vehicle is identified as being parked can be associated with an identifier for the current parking location.

obtaining, with an electronic device, one or more sensor parameters from a sensor on a mobile device; detecting, with the mobile device, a disconnection of a communication connection between the mobile device and the vehicle; responsive to detecting the disconnection, calculating, with the electronic device, a confidence score based on the one or more sensor parameters; identifying, with the electronic device, the vehicle as being in a parked state based on the confidence score exceeding a threshold; determining a location of the vehicle at a first time corresponding to when the vehicle is identified as being parked; and associating the determined location with the location of the vehicle when the vehicle is identified to be in the parked state. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23)
