1. A device for analysing the composition of the contents of each of a plurality of containers having varying shapes, said device comprisingspectral analysis means for analysing the contents of each said container by measuring absorptions of waves by a respective container and its contents, said spectral analysis means including a plurality of transmitters suitable for sending waves and a corresponding plurality of receivers so as to receive the waves emitted by the transmitters, andmeans for providing information relative to the nature of the contents of said respective container as a function of the wave absorption measuring,a support means for supporting the transmitters and the receivers, the support means comprising a cavity or channel which is titled downwards away from an open front face through which the respective container is introduced and is configured to allow precise and repeatable positioning of the respective container relative to the transmitters and receivers, wherein the transmitters and the receivers are placed in a sagittal plane of the support means, the transmitters extending above the cavity or channel, along a topmost portion of said cavity or channel in order to limit the risks of blinding a user, and the receivers extending under or below the cavity or channel, along a bottommost portion of said cavity or channel, such that the receivers are covered by each respective container placed in the cavity in order to prevent ambient radiation from being received by the receivers, the waves emitted by the transmitters passing through the respective container to be analysed prior to being received by a corresponding one of the receivers,wherein the support means comprises a base of a channel, whose rear face is closed to prevent the container from slipping on the base;

  • a lower portion of the base is formed by a concavity pointing upwards comprising a bottommost portion at a location that is below the respective container;

    at said location, the receivers are disposed under said lower portion;

    the transmitters corresponding to the receivers are disposed directly above the corresponding receivers to limit radiation being passed outside the device and to limit ambient radiation from being received by said receivers when said respective container is disposed in said cavity.
