1. A device for deploying an intraocular shunt, the device comprising:
- a housing comprising a proximal end and a distal end;
a deployment mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing, and comprising;
a first portion; and
a second portion rotatable relative to the first portion, and comprising a first channel and a second channel, the first channel defining a first path extending at least partially circumferentially about and longitudinally along the second portion, the second channel defining a second path extending at least partially circumferentially about and longitudinally along the second portion, the second path being different than the first path; and
a pusher attached to a first member slidably positioned in the first channel such that motion of the pusher is coupled to motion of the first member;
a hollow shaft configured to hold an intraocular shunt, at least a portion of the pusher positioned within the hollow shaft, the hollow shaft attached to a second member slidably positioned in the second channel such that motion of the hollow shaft is coupled to motion of the second member; and
wherein rotation of the second portion relative to the first portion moves the first member in the first channel along the first path and the second member in the second channel along the second path such that the pusher moves distally relative to the second portion, and then the hollow shaft moves proximally relative to the second portion.

Abstract
The present invention generally relates to devices for deploying intraocular shunts without the use of an optical apparatus that contacts an eye, such as a goniolens. In certain embodiments, devices of the invention include a housing including a proximal portion and a distal portion, in which the distal portion is movable within the proximal portion, a deployment mechanism at least partially disposed within the housing, and a hollow shaft coupled to the deployment mechanism, in which the shaft is configured to hold an intraocular shunt.

17. A device for placing an intraocular shunt in an eye, the device comprising:

a first portion; a second portion rotatable relative to the first portion, and comprising a proximal end, a distal end, a first channel, and a second channel, the first channel extending at least partially circumferentially about and longitudinally along the second portion, the second channel extending at least partially circumferentially about and longitudinally along the second portion; a first component configured for attachment to a pusher, the first component attached to a first member slidably positioned in the first channel such that motion of the first component is linked to motion of the first member; and a second component configured for attachment to a needle holding the shunt, the second component attached to a second member slidably positioned in the second channel such that motion of the second component is linked to motion of the second member; and wherein rotation of the second portion relative to the first portion moves the first and second members within the first and second channels, respectively. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29)
