1. A method comprising:

  • forming a lead assembly including coating an external portion of at least one electrode coil with a coating of fibrosis limiting material, wherein the electrode coil includes a first end, an opposite second end, and a length therebetween, and the coating of fibrosis limiting material extends past one or more of the first end portion and the second end portion without extending between contacting portions of adjacent windings of the electrode coil;

    disposing the electrode coil over an electrode coil fitting and anchoring the fibrosis limiting material between the electrode coil and the electrode coil fitting;

    coupling the at least one electrode coil with at least one conductor; and

    disposing an insulative lead body over at least a portion of the at least one conductor and adjacent to the electrode coil and coating.
