1. A system for estimating cardiac pressure within a patient using an implantable medical device for implant within a patient, the system comprising:

  • an immittance detection system operative to detect a value representative of electrical immittance within the heart of the patient;

    an immittance-based electrical conduction delay estimation unit operative to estimate an electrical conduction delay in the heart of the patient from the value representative of immittance; and

    a conduction delay-based cardiac pressure estimation unit operative to estimate cardiac pressure within the patient from the estimated electrical conduction delay;

    a controller configured to at least one of, based at least in part on the estimated cardiac pressure;

    generate instructions for therapy to at least one end user,automatically deliver medication using a drug pump, orautomatically adjust pacing parameters of the implantable medical device.
