1. A method for receiving and processing a digital radio broadcasting signal, the method comprising:
- using a single tuner to receive an in-band on-channel digital radio broadcasting signal comprised of a plurality of carriers in a single broadcast radio channel, with the carriers being modulated to concurrently transmit two or more different programs, each of the programs including encoded content in a first format;
processing the encoded content of a first one of the programs to convert the encoded content into a second format;
storing the encoded content of the first one of the programs in the second format;
decoding the encoded content of a second one of the programs to recover decoded content; and
using the decoded content of the second one of the programs to produce an output signal.
