1. A filter assembly comprising:
- a catheter having a proximal section and a distal section, the distal section including a housing having an elastomeric distally tapered portion disposed about a distal end thereof;
an elongated shaft disposed within a lumen of the catheter, the elongated shaft having a proximal section and a distal section including an atraumatic tip; and
a filter fixedly coupled to the distal section of the elongated shaft, the filter including a filter frame actuatable between a collapsed position and an expanded position and a filter membrane disposed on a distal portion of the filter frame;
wherein the elastomeric distally tapered portion of the housing provides an atraumatic profile for advancement of the housing and the filter to a treatment site.
