1. A method for processing images in a system having a computer and a display device, the method comprising:

  • obtaining a plurality of series of biological images by the computer, wherein at least one series is in a first biological class and at least one other series is in a second biological class different from the first biological class, and wherein certain images in any series correspond to certain images in the other series;

    performing a registration process, by the computer, to align pixels of certain images in one series with the corresponding pixels of certain images in the other series;

    creating, by the computer, a segmentation mask for a selected image in a series in the first biological class whose pixels are aligned in accordance with the registration process, wherein the segmentation mask defines a set of pixels to be eliminated from that selected image; and

    applying, by the computer, the segmentation mask to a corresponding image in another series in the second biological class whose pixels are aligned in accordance with the registration process, to eliminate corresponding pixels of the image in the other series; and

    displaying, on the display device, the image from the other series whose pixels were eliminated by the segmentation mask.
