1. A gaming system comprising:
- a processor;
a display device;
an input device; and
a memory device that stores a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to operate with the display device and the input device to;
(a) cause the display device to display a first window having a first size;
(b) cause the display device to display a play of a game in the first window; and
(c) upon an occurrence of a triggering event;
(i) cause the display device to display the first window having a second size, the second size being smaller than the first size;
(ii) cause the display device to simultaneously display a second window in addition to the first window; and
(iii) cause the display device to display content in the second window, said content being independent of any plays of any games.

Where the gaming machine is located within a casino, the gaming machine may further be configured to present, on the display, a 3D virtual gaming environment which is a model of the casino.
