1. A method for localizing a mobile device, comprising:
- receiving, at a localization server, a message from the mobile device sent over a Client Device Access Network (CDAN) and including a coarse location indicator indicating a coarse location of the mobile device;
determining a unique address of the mobile device;
identifying a retailer station including a transmitter in proximity to the indicated coarse location,sending the unique address from the localization server to the retailer station;
causing the retailer station to transmit from the transmitter a mobile device specific polling signal based on the unique address, which polling signal elicits a response from the mobile device if it is received.

Abstract
Disclosed are methods, circuits, systems and associated computer executable code for detecting the presence of a mobile computing device in a specific area. Included are means for receiving a message from the mobile device including a coarse location indicator, determining that the received coarse location indicator is in proximity with one or more local (e.g. retailer) stations, and causing at least one of the one or more local stations to transmit a mobile device specific poling signal to the device.

2. A method for no-click check-in, comprising:
-
automatically transmitting from a mobile device, over a Client Device Access Network (CDAN), a mobile device coarse location indicator indicating a coarse location of the mobile device to a localization server; receiving a mobile device specific polling signal based on a unique address of the mobile device, from a local communication node, which polling signal is initiated by the localization server and wherein the local communication node is selected by the localization server based on proximity to the coarse location; transmitting an acknowledgement of receipt of the polling signal to the local communication node; and receiving a pushed message associated with the local communication node.

3. A localization server, comprising:
-
a first database for storing locations; a communication module for receiving a message from a target device including a coarse location indicator indicating a coarse location of the target device and a first unique identifier associated with a first Client Device Access Network (CDAN); and a controller adapted to; (i) compare the coarse location to locations stored in the first database and determine if one of the stored locations is in proximity to the coarse location; and (ii) send a second unique identifier of the target device associated with a second network to a local communication node to initiate scanning for the target device by the local communication node using the second unique identifier in the second network. - View Dependent Claims (4)
