1. A method of managing timing alignment, TA, functionality for a communication device of a wireless communication system which supports carrier aggregation that multiple component carriers are aggregated to support wider transmission bandwidth, the method comprising:

  • receiving a radio resource control, RRC, message indicating a usage of a timing advance command for at least one of a plurality of component carriers configured to the communication device, from a cell in a network of the wireless communication system;

    when the timing advance command has been received from the cell in the network for all of the indicated at least one component carrier, applying the timing advance functionality corresponding to the cell for all of the indicated at least one component carrier, for updating a same timing advance value corresponding to the cell for all of the indicated at least one component carrier; and

    when updating the timing advance value, starting or restarting a time alignment timer for all of the indicated at least one component carrier.
