1. A touch sensor system comprising:
- a touch sensor panel,the touch sensor panel including;
a plurality of vertical electrodes (i) each including a repeat of first basic shapes connected to one another in a vertical direction, the first basic shapes each including a fine wire, (ii) provided on a vertical electrode surface, and (iii) arranged at a predetermined interval in a horizontal direction;
a plurality of horizontal electrodes (i) each including a repeat of second basic shapes connected to one another in the horizontal direction, the second basic shapes each including a fine wire, (ii) provided on a horizontal electrode surface parallel to the vertical electrode surface, and (iii) arranged at a predetermined interval in the vertical direction;
an insulator provided between the vertical electrode surface and the horizontal electrode surface so as to insulate the plurality of vertical electrodes and the plurality of horizontal electrodes from each other; and
a plurality of capacitances provided at respective intersections of the plurality of vertical electrodes with the plurality of horizontal electrodes,the plurality of vertical electrodes and the plurality of horizontal electrodes (i) being disposed so that, as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the vertical electrode surface, the plurality of vertical electrodes include no segment coincident with the plurality of horizontal electrodes and (ii) forming a uniform grid having no gap, the fine wire included in the first basic shapes and the fine wire included in the second basic shapes each extending in an oblique direction, the grid having a rectangular outline; and
an integrated circuit for controlling the touch sensor panel,the integrated circuit including;
a drive section for (i) driving the plurality of vertical electrodes in parallel for each of the plurality of capacitances, and thus (ii) outputting, along the plurality of horizontal electrodes, linear sums of respective electric charges stored in the plurality of capacitances; and
an estimating section for estimating respective capacitance values of the plurality of capacitances along the plurality of horizontal electrodes on a basis of an inner product operation of (i) the linear sums of the electric charges, the linear sums being outputted along the plurality of horizontal electrodes, and (ii) the code sequences di.
