1. A method for deploying an expandable heart valve in a patient, the method comprising:

  • introducing a guide wire into a patient and advancing the guidewire through a vasculature of a patient to a deployment site;

    advancing over the guidewire an elongate shaft having a guidewire lumen therethrough and having an expandable heart valve coupled to a plurality of struts disposed on a distal end thereof, the plurality of struts, when in a collapsed position, are disposed substantially axially to the elongate shaft;

    positioning the heart valve at the deployment site; and

    rotating a screw mechanism, causing the plurality of struts to expand radially into an expanded configuration, thereby deploying the heart valve prosthetic device.
