1. A digital jukebox device operable to play songs on a pay-to-play basis, comprising:

  • processing resources including at least one processor and a memory;

    a non-transitory computer readable storage medium tangibly storing a plurality of songs available for playback via the digital jukebox device, at least some of the songs being divided into at least first and second different lists of songs;

    a display; and

    a user interface configured to receive input from patrons,wherein the user interface is controlled by the processing resources to respond to instructions received by the digital jukebox device from an authorized user to (a) enable patron selection and playback of songs from only one of said lists in accordance with a first pricing scheme, and (b) appear as a whole in an overall visually distinctive manner, selected from a plurality of different possible overall visually distinctive manners, for the one list from which patrons can select and playback songs in accordance with the first pricing scheme.
