- receiving, by a processor of the intelligent television, electronic programming guide (EPG) information including a content listing including information about two or more items of content that are or will be presented on the intelligent television;
storing the EPG information;
receiving a user-defined attribute associated with a first item of content, wherein the user-defined attribute is a favorite designation;
appending a first field onto the EPG information for a first item of content; and
storing a first favorite designation into the first field.
