- extracting the native lens;
implanting a first intraocular lens of a first IOL power, the first IOL power being determined by a measurement performed on the eye before implanting the first intraocular lens;
while the patient remains in surgery, measuring refraction of the eye after implantation of the first intraocular lens to determine the extent of residual error in the refraction provided by the first intraocular lens.
