Methods, systems, and devices for managing medical images and records
First Claim
1. A computer-implemented method of accessing one or more electronic medical data sources in response to inputs received from a user via an interactive user interface in order to transfer one or more medical files from a source facility to a destination facility over a computer network, the method comprising:
- causing to display a personalized interactive user interface that includes functionality for users to interactively select one or more medical files and to interactively select a destination facility and to input an authentication answer to a displayed predetermined authentication question, wherein the personalized interactive user interface is a dynamically generated personalized display based at least on available medical files accessible by the user and on the predetermined authentication question;
receiving by a computer server system, through a computer network from a user access point system, an electronic communication comprising a request to transfer one or more medical files, including one or more images, from the source facility to the destination facility, the electronic communication further comprising the authentication answer to the predetermined authentication question;
generating by the computer server system a new authentication key based on the request to transfer the one or more medical files from the source facility to the destination facility;
storing the authentication key and the authentication answer in a computer database;
transmitting the generated authentication key from the computer server system to the user access point system for display by the user access point system;
receiving by the computer server system, through the computer network from a destination computer system, an authentication message comprising a second authentication key and a second authentication answer;
comparing the second authentication key and second authentication answer to the stored authentication key and authentication answer;
initiating, responsive to a confirmation that the second authentication key and second authentication answer match the stored authentication key and authentication answer, the transfer of the one or more medical files from the source facility to the destination facility; and
determining, by automated machine analysis of the one or more images of the one or more medical files, whether to convert the one or more images into a format viewable by a computing device of the destination facility, the converting performed before the one or more medical files are stored in the computing device of the destination facility, the converting comprising automated utilizing image processing techniques that would be inefficient for the computing device of the destination facility to utilize,wherein the computer server system comprises a computer processor and an electronic storage medium.
