1. A slide-and-lock stent, comprising a tubular member having longitudinal, radial, and circumferential axes, and luminal and abluminal surfaces, the tubular member comprising:

  • a first longitudinal module and a second longitudinal module, the first longitudinal module and the second longitudinal module each comprising;

    a first end, a second end longitudinally opposite the first end, and an intermediate portion joining the first end and the second end, the first end comprising a closed loop, the closed loop comprising an opening that extends between the luminal and abluminal surfaces, wherein a longitudinal axis of the closed loop extends parallel to the circumferential axis of the tubular member; and

    a spine extending along the intermediate portion, the spine comprising alternating peaks and valleys;

    a protrusion extending from at least one of the peaks of the first longitudinal module, the protrusion comprising a first lockout tooth and a second lockout tooth; and

    a slot extending through a region of at least one of the valleys of the second longitudinal module;

    wherein the protrusion of the first longitudinal module is configured to slidably engage with the slot of the second longitudinal module thereby circumferentially engaging the first longitudinal module and the second longitudinal module,wherein the lockout tooth is configured to allow one-way slidable movement of the first longitudinal module relative to the second longitudinal module during expansion of the tubular member from a radially unexpanded state to a radially expanded state.
