1. An apparatus comprising:
- a communication interface configured to receive an alarm signal from a gas sensor unit in response to a detection of a gas concentration measured by the gas sensor unit or an activation of a panic button in communication with the gas sensor unit;
a processor configured to identify a location of the gas sensor unit in a work area;
a display unit configured to display the location of the gas sensor unit in a map of the work area;
the display unit configured to display a location of a user in a vicinity of the location of the gas sensor unit based on a location of a device of the user; and
the processor configured to determine a distance of the user from the location of the gas sensor unit based on the location of the device of the user and transmit, via the communication interface;
an alert signal to the device associated with the user, and the location of the gas sensor unit to the device of the user automatically, in response to the determined distance being within a threshold range of the gas sensor unit.

A system, method, and apparatus for gas exposure monitoring of a work area are described. The system may include components that receive an alarm data item from a sensor device. The alarm data item may be generated in response to a first user being exposed to a gas concentration measured by the sensor device. A processor may receive a location of the sensor device in the work area based on a location identifier of the sensor device. A second user located within a predetermined vicinity of the sensor device may be identified. The second user may be identified by the processor. The system may transmit an indication of the alarm data item received from the first user and the location of the sensor device in the work area to the second user.
