1. An end connector for attachment to a reinforced hose, comprising:

  • a stem having a coupler end and a hose receiver end, anda ferrule attached to the stem adjacent the coupler end, andthe stem and ferrule having a cavity located therebetween, extending along a length of the end connector, configured to receive an end of a reinforced hose therein, and divided into an expansion area located adjacent an attachment point where the ferrule is attached to the stem, at least two gripping zones extending from adjacent the expansion area toward the hose receiver end and a termination zone that extends from the at least two gripping zones to the hose receiver end, said at least two gripping zones including a first gripping zone located adjacent the expansion area and having a first plurality of flutes and landings formed in the stem and a second plurality of flutes and landings formed in the ferrule that have a different configuration from the first plurality, the first gripping zone further including a reinforcement liner stop formed in the stem and located nearer the expansion area than the first plurality of flutes and landings, ends of the first gripping zone being defined by a portion of the cavity located between the reinforcement liner stop and an inner line stop formed in the stem, and a second gripping zone of the at least two gripping zones located nearer the hose receiver end than the first gripping zone and having a third plurality of flutes and landings formed in the stem that have a different configuration from at least one of the first and second plurality of flutes and landings, and a fourth plurality of flutes and landings formed in the ferrule that have a different configuration from the second plurality of flutes and landings, and wherein the second plurality of flutes and landings extend into said second gripping zone, the second gripping zone further including the inner liner stop.
