A child-monitoring system comprisesa parent unit including an output and a communication unit configured to receive a signal to cause the output to communicate to a user the signal anda child unit located in spaced apart relation to the parent unit and configured to provide the signal to the parent unit, the child unit including a foundation, a top camera coupled to the foundation to move relative to the foundation and configured to provide a first portion of the signal, and a bottom camera configured to provide a second portion of the signal and coupled to the foundation to move relative to the foundation and the top camerawherein the foundation includes a camera base adapted to rest on and be supported by a support surface, a bottom-camera mount coupled to the camera base to extend in an upward direction away from the support surface, and a top-camera mount coupled to the bottom-camera mount to extend away from the support surface in the upward direction and locate the bottom-camera mount between the top-camera mount and the camera base.
