1. A wireless device comprising:
- one or more communication interfaces;
one or more processors; and
memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the wireless device to;
receive at least one control message comprising;
configuration parameters of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups, the plurality of cell groups comprising;
a first cell group comprising a first subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the first cell group being derived employing a first cell in the first cell group; and
a second cell group comprising a second subset of the plurality of cells, uplink transmission timing in the second cell group being derived employing a second cell in the second cell group;
a first information element for a first time alignment timer of the first cell group; and
a second information element for a second time alignment timer of the second cell group;
transmit, as a part of a random access process and while the first time alignment timer of the first cell group is running, a first random access preamble in the second cell group; and
abort the random access process if the first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.

Abstract
A wireless device receives control message(s) configuring a plurality of cell groups comprising a first cell group and a second cell group. The wireless device transmits, as a part of a random access process, a first random access preamble in the second cell group. The wireless device aborts the random access process if a first time alignment timer of the first cell group expires.
