1. A method of implanting a device at a target site within a main vessel and at least one side branch vessel, the device comprising a main lumen and at least one branched lumen extending laterally therefrom, the method comprising:
- advancing the device using a catheter system wherein each of a proximal end and distal end of the main lumen and a distal end of the at least one branched lumen is releasably attached to the catheter system;
advancing the distal end of the main lumen from a distal end of the catheter system wherein the distal end of the main lumen remains releasably attached to the system;
advancing the distal end of the at least one branched lumen into the side branch vessel independently of advancing the distal end of the main lumen while the distal end of the at least one branched lumen remains releasably attached to the catheter system;
applying tension to the distal end of the at least one branched lumen to elongate the at least one branched lumen when the at least one branched lumen is within the at least one side branch vessel;
controlling the tension applied to the distal end of the at least one branched lumen, independently of the main lumen, to expand the branched lumen into a partial deployed position prior to releasing the distal end of the at least one branched lumen from the catheter system; and
detaching at least one of the main lumen or branched lumen from the catheter system.

Abstract
The present invention provides systems and methods for deploying implantable devices within the body. The delivery and deployment systems include at least one catheter or an assembly of catheters for selectively positioning the lumens of the implant to within target vessels. Various deployment and attachment mechanisms are provided for selectively deploying the implants.

advancing the device using a catheter system wherein each of a proximal end and distal end of the main lumen and a distal end of the at least one branched lumen is releasably attached to the catheter system; advancing the distal end of the main lumen from a distal end of the catheter system wherein the distal end of the main lumen remains releasably attached to the system; advancing the distal end of the at least one branched lumen into the side branch vessel independently of advancing the distal end of the main lumen while the distal end of the at least one branched lumen remains releasably attached to the catheter system; applying tension to the distal end of the at least one branched lumen to elongate the at least one branched lumen when the at least one branched lumen is within the at least one side branch vessel; controlling the tension applied to the distal end of the at least one branched lumen, independently of the main lumen, to expand the branched lumen into a partial deployed position prior to releasing the distal end of the at least one branched lumen from the catheter system; and detaching at least one of the main lumen or branched lumen from the catheter system. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 21)

A method of implanting a device at a target site within the body having a main vessel and at least one laterally extending side branch vessel in fluid communication with the main vessel, where the device includes a main lumen and at least one side-branch lumen extending therefrom, the method comprising:

providing a catheter system within which the device is operatively loaded wherein each of a proximal end and distal end of the main lumen and a distal end of the at least one side-branch lumen is releasably attached to the catheter system; advancing the distal end of the main lumen from a distal end of the catheter system wherein the distal end of the main lumen remains releasably attached to the system within the main vessel; advancing the distal end of the at least one side-branch lumen from a distal end of the catheter system from the main vessel and adjacent to the main lumen laterally into the side branch vessel while the main lumen remains within the main vessel and wherein the distal end of the at least one side-branch remains releasably attached to the system; and applying tension to the distal end of the at least one side branch lumen, independently of the main lumen, to elongate the at least one side branch lumen when located within the at least one side branch vessel and where controlling the tension allows expanding the side branch lumen into partial deployed position prior to release from the catheter system; and detaching at least one of the advanced lumen ends from the system to implant the device. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22)
