Abstract

A base station transmits on a first control channel first scheduling information for a control message. The base station transmits the control message configuring second radio resources of a second control channel. The second radio resources comprise resource blocks in a subset of subframes. The control message indicates the subset of subframes and a starting symbol of the second control channel and a data channel. The base station transmits second scheduling information on the second control channel.

Claims

1. A method for use in a base station, the method comprising:

transmitting, to a wireless device and via a first control channel, first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein first radio resources of the first control channel in a first subframe of a plurality of subframes start from an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol occurring first in the first subframe;

transmitting, to the wireless device, the RRC message comprising configuration parameters of second radio resources of a second control channel, the second radio resources comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes of the plurality of subframes, the RRC message indicating;

the subset of subframes in which the second radio resources are configured; and

a starting OFDM symbol of both the second control channel and a data channel in the subset of subframes, the starting OFDM symbol being applicable to each subframe of the subset of subframes indicated in the RRC message;

transmitting, to the wireless device and via the second control channel, second scheduling information for a packet;

receiving the packet; and

transmitting a positive or negative acknowledgement for the packet in a second subframe of the plurality of subframes using third radio resources of a feedback channel, wherein the third radio resources start from a symbol occurring first in the second subframe and the third radio resources have a duration of one or three symbols.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in the one or more sets of resource blocks.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the subset of subframes.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the first radio resources and the second radio resources are configured on a carrier comprising a plurality of OFDM sub carriers.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) control packet transmitted via a subset of subcarriers of the first radio resources in one or more OFDM symbols in the first subframe.

6. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the base station to;

transmit, to a wireless device and via a first control channel, first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein first radio resources of the first control channel in a first subframe of a plurality of subframes start from an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol occurring first in the first subframe;

transmit, to the wireless device, the RRC message comprising configuration parameters of second radio resources of a second control channel, the second radio resources comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes of the plurality of subframes, the RRC message indicating;

the subset of subframes in which the second radio resources are configured; and

a starting OFDM symbol of both the second control channel and a data channel in the subset of subframes, the first starting OFDM symbol being applicable to each subframe of the subset of subframes indicated in the RRC message;

transmit, to the wireless device and via the second control channel, second scheduling information for a packet;

receive the packet; and

transmit a positive or negative acknowledgement for the packet in a second subframe of the plurality of subframes using third radio resources of a feedback channel, wherein the third radio resources start from a symbol occurring first in the second subframe and the third radio resources have a duration of one or three symbols.

7. The base station of claim 6, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in the one or more sets of resource blocks.

8. The base station of claim 7, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the subset of subframes.

9. The base station of claim 8, wherein the RRC message comprises the configuration parameters of the second control channel, the configuration parameters being applicable to each subframe of the subset of subframes indicated in the RRC message.

10. The base station of claim 9, wherein the first radio resources and the second radio resources are configured on a carrier comprising a plurality of OFDM sub carriers.

11. The base station of claim 10, wherein fourth radio resources of a first data channel in each subframe of the subset of subframes start from an OFDM symbol subsequent to one or more OFDM symbols employed for transmission of the first control channel.

12. The base station of claim 11, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs spatial multiplexing in the subset of subframes.

13. The base station of claim 12, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs beamforming in the subset of subframes.

14. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the wireless device to;

receive, from a base station and via a first control channel, first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message, wherein first radio resources of the first control channel in a first subframe of a plurality of subframes start from an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol occurring first in the first subframe;

receive, from the base station, the RRC message comprising configuration parameters of second radio resources of a second control channel, the second radio resources comprising one or more sets of resource blocks in a subset of subframes of the plurality of subframes, the RRC message indicating;

the subset of subframes in which the second radio resources are configured; and

a starting OFDM symbol of both the second control channel and a data channel in the subset of subframes, the starting OFDM symbol being applicable to each subframe of the subset of subframes indicated in the RRC message;

receive, from the base station and via the second control channel, second scheduling information for a packet;

transmit the packet; and

receive a positive or negative acknowledgement for the packet in a second subframe of the plurality of subframes using third radio resources of a feedback channel, wherein the third radio resources start from a symbol occurring first in the second subframe and the third radio resources have a duration of one or three symbols.

15. The wireless device of claim 14, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in the one or more sets of resource blocks.

16. The wireless device of claim 15, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the subset of subframes.

17. The wireless device of claim 16, wherein the RRC message comprises configuration parameters of the second control channel, the configuration parameters being applicable to each subframe of the subset of subframes indicated in the RRC message.

18. The wireless device of claim 17, wherein the first radio resources and the second radio resources are configured on a carrier comprising a plurality of OFDM subcarriers.

19. The wireless device of claim 18, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) control packet employing a subset of subcarriers of the first radio resources transmitted on one or more OFDM symbols in the first subframe.

20. The wireless device of claim 19, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs spatial multiplexing and beamforming in the subset of subframes.
