A method for treating a hematologic malignancy, comprising the administration of a ligand of PD1, wherein said ligand of PD1 is an anti-PD1 monoclonal antibody or an antigen binding fragment thereof which binds to PD1 and induces death and/or elimination of a B-cell expressing PD1,said monoclonal antibody being selected from the group consisting of a monoclonal antibody obtainable from a hybridoma deposited at the COLLECTION NATIONALE DE CULTURES DE MICROORGANISMES (CNCM) as CNCM I-3745 and a monoclonal antibody comprising the three complementary determining regions (CDRs) from each of the heavy and light chain variable regions of the monoclonal antibody obtainable from hybridoma CNCM I-3745, andsaid antigen binding fragment comprising a sequence of the monoclonal antibody obtainable from hybridoma CNCM I-3745 that comprises at least the three light chain CDRs and the three heavy chain CDRs of the monoclonal antibody, andwherein the hematologic malignancy is selected from the group consisting of a chronic lymphocytic leukemia of B-cell origin and a small lymphocytic lymphoma of B-cell origin.
