Abstract

A connector provided on a projector has an RF chip. A plug connected to the connector has an RF chip at a position opposite to the RF chip of the connector. When a protruding section of the plug is inserted and fit into an aperture section of the connector, the RF chip of the plug and the RF chip of the connector perform wireless communication with each other in a non-contact state. Thus, a connecting tool can be easily attached to/detached from a receiving tool without breaking a terminal due to contact such as in a case where a conventional contact type terminal is used.

Claims

1. A connector system comprising:

a receiver; and

a connector connected to the receiver,

the receiver having a first communicator configured to connect to a first converting circuit for converting a wired signal into a radio signal and for converting a radio signal into a wired signal,

the connector having a second communicator configured to connect to a second converting circuit for converting a wired signal into a radio signal and for converting a radio signal into a wired signal, and

at least one of the first converting circuit and the second converting circuit including a coupler and an amplifier, the coupler including at least one receiving coupler and at least one transmitting coupler,

wherein the at least one receiving coupler is configured to convert a radio signal into a wired signal and transmit the wired signal to the amplifier, the amplifier is configured to amplify the wired signal and transmit the amplified wired signal to the at least one transmitting coupler, and the at least one transmitting coupler is configured to transmit the amplified wired signal to the other of the first converting circuit and the second converting circuit as the radio signal.

2. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein

the connector is connected to the receiver in a detachable manner.

3. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein

the second communicator of the connector comprises an electric-optical conversion section for converting an electric signal received from the first communicator of the receiver into an optical signal.

4. The connector system according to claim 3, wherein

the connector comprises an optical transmission path for transmitting the optical signal converted by the electric-optical conversion section.

5. The connector system according to claim 4, wherein

the second communicator comprises an optical-electric conversion section for receiving an optical signal that propagates through the optical transmission path connected to the second communicator, and for converting the optical signal into an electric signal.

6. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein

the receiver comprises a power supply section for supplying power to the second communicator.

7. The connector system according to claim 6, wherein

the first and second communicators have a plurality of transmitting antennas and receiving antennas.

8. The connector system according to claim 7, wherein

the power source supply section restricts power supply to the transmitting antennas and receiving antennas in order to prevent interference.

9. The connector system according to claim 7, wherein

the transmitting antennas and receiving antennas are positioned based on the plane of polarization of the adjacent transmitting antennas and the adjacent receiving antennas.

10. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein the first communicator is sealed within the receiver and the second communicator is sealed within the connector.

11. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein the connector is inserted into the receiver in an insertion direction, and

the first communicator and the second communicator are positioned such that the insertion direction is orthogonal to a direction normal to an output surface of the radio signal emitted by the first communicator and the second communicator.

12. The connector system according to claim 1, further comprising:

a power supply system configured to supply power based on the connector being coupled to the receiver.

13. The connector system according to claim 1, further comprising:

a cable including the connector.

14. The connector system according to claim 13, wherein the cable includes the connector at a first end and a second connector at a second end.

15. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein

the first communicator and the second communicator communicate bidirectionally.

16. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein the second communicator communicates with the first communicator at a frequency associated with a millimeter-wave band.

17. The connector system according to claim 16, wherein the frequency greater than or equal to 25 GHz.

18. The connector system according to claim 16, wherein the frequency is greater than or equal to 40 GHz.

19. The connector system according to claim 16, wherein the frequency is greater than or equal to 60 GHz.

20. The connector system according to claim 1, wherein the second communicator is at a position opposite to the first communicator.
