1. A method for allocating quality of service (QoS) resources comprising:
- detecting, by a radio access network, a communication request for a communication requiring QoS resources directed to an access terminal; and
allocating, by the radio access network, the QoS resources prior to receiving a request from the access terminal to allocate the QoS resources, based on the detecting.

Abstract
Systems and methods for predictive QoS resource allocation in a wireless communication system are disclosed. An access network can detect a communication directed to an access terminal requiring QoS resources, send a page to an access terminal and allocate the QoS resources prior to receipt of the connection request from the access terminal.
