1. An implantable device for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal comprising:
- an implantable electrode for use inside a living body;
a signal pickup configured to pick up an electrogram signal comprising a high frequency (HF) component;
a signal filter connected to the signal pickup and configured to measure a high frequency (HF) component from the electrogram signal only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle; and
an analyzer for analyzing the HF component of the electrogram signal,wherein;
the signal pickup, the signal filter and the analyzer are comprised within an implantable container; and
the analyzer is configured to analyze at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component of the electrogram signal; and
the signal filter is configured to measure said electrogram signal by using a signal picked up from at least one electrode selected from a group consisting of;
(a) an intracardiac electrode;
(b) a subcutaneous electrode;
(c) a can of said implanted device;
(d) a combination of two of the above.

An implantable device for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal including an implantable electrode, a signal pickup configured to pick up an electrogram signal including a HF component, a signal filter connected to the signal pickup and configured to measure a HF component from the signal only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle, and an analyzer for analyzing the HF component, wherein the signal pickup, the signal filter and the analyzer are included within an implantable container, and the analyzer is configured to analyze at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component, and the signal filter is configured to measure the signal by using a signal picked up from at least one electrode selected from a group consisting of (a) intracardiac, (b) subcutaneous, (c) a can of the implanted device, (d) a combination of two of the above. Related apparatus and methods are also described.

7. A method for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal comprising:

(a) providing at least one electrogram signal from an electrode located within a subject'"'"'s body; (b) measuring the electrogram signal at a high frequency only during a specific portion of a cardiac cycle, generating a HF electrogram signal for the specific portion of the cardiac cycle; and (c) calculating at least one time-varying parameter of the generated HF electrogram signal, wherein the specific portion of the cardiac cycle comprises at least part of a specific segment of the cardiac cycle, the specific segment of the cardiac cycle being one of a group consisting of; a P segment; a Q segment; a R segment; a S segment; a T segment; and a QRS complex segment. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)

19. An implantable device for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal comprising:

an implantable electrode for use inside a living body; a signal pickup configured to pick up an electrogram signal comprising a high frequency (HF) component; a measurement unit for measuring a high frequency (HF) component of the electrogram signal only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle; and an analyzer for analyzing the HF component of the electrogram signal, wherein; the signal pickup, the measurement unit and the analyzer are comprised within an implantable container; the analyzer is configured to analyze at least one time-varying parameter of the HF component of the electrogram signal; and the analyzer is configured to determine the specific segment of the breathing cycle.

20. A method for analyzing a high frequency (HF) electrogram signal comprising:

(a) providing at least one electrogram signal from an electrode located within a subject'"'"'s body; (b) measuring the electrogram signal at a high frequency only during a specific segment of a breathing cycle, generating a HF electrogram signal for the specific segment of the breathing cycle; and (c) having a computer measure at least one time-varying parameter of the HF electrogram signal.
